Good News And Horrifying News

"Cycle tracks will abound in Utopia." -H.G. Wells
“I don't really think, I just walk.” -Paris Hilton

First of all, here is some good news. National Trails Day is on June 5th. There should be all sorts of nationwide events but here in Columbia, you can join in the trail fun at Harbison State Forest at 10:30 AM. There will be a dedication ceremony for the Richland County Conservation Commission ("You sir, are a mouthful") trailhead education kiosk followed by some group trail rides and walks. Admiral Bumbles the Itinerant Clown will be making balloon animals from 10:45 AM until 7:00 PM. He will need nourishment and kind words. In kinda good news depending on your feelings about suspected dopers, Lance Armstrong (or as his hand towels say, LA) is back on the bike and racing at the Tour of Luxembourg. I think he did a time trial or something, who knows really as it took place in Luxembourg and according to Wikipedia, they're still waiting on their first rotary phone to be installed for the local press contigent. Does Luxembourg even have telegraphs? I tell you, the telegraph is going to make a comeback once the young people realize the I-Phone is just a TV remote without any buttons. Scam city. Anyhoo, Graphics toiler Adam sent this Michael Jackson-esque photo to The Blog. LA flanked by his entourage sporting a nose that may or may not have a narrower bridge...

This is a handy chart. Acquaint thyself with its easy to understand color-coding...

And finally, the horrifying. Apparently this psychopath brushed a rider on a charity ride with his vehicle, escalated a confrontation and then started getting his stab on. It really boggles the mind when these things happen. Also, if you have the stomach for it, scroll through the article's comments section for some "unusual" takes on the incidence. Click on this degenerate's mugshot for the full story. Thanks Bruce for the heads up...

Luxembourg may be small, but they hold the cajones of Europe. It is the financial capitol of Europe. Not to mention General George S. Patton is buried there.
