It's Been a Rough Week

For those who don't know, Hawley lost its service center guru Ian Foyster to an act of senseless violence earlier this week. The tragedy of the circumstances is perhaps only eclipsed by its surreality and suddenness. It's hard to put into words the collective feeling all of us felt when Steve broke the bad news. Stunned silence for three minutes as everybody tried to grapple with the reality that we'd never get to hear Ian's joyous (some might say "tuneless") singing down the hallways or his signature "Eh?", "Oy!" or "Jam-Up Jelly Tight". Everybody is going to miss Ian, a lot! Other than that, there's not much else to say is there? There's a memorial service next week and hopefully I'll have some info pertaining to a college fund set up for his daughter Haley. Here's the blurb from Bicycle Retailer:
Oh yeah, special thanks to Cane Creek for loaning Jerm back to us for the time being!

I am without words to express how sad I am. It's been a really tough week. Ian was one of my best friends and I will severely miss him.

In regards to the anonymous comment, This is a horrible loss for us all. Throwing around anger and blame will not make this any better for anyone, especially Haley.

Our condolences go out to everyone at Hawley and especially to his family. I'd only spoken with Ian on the phone but always enjoyed it. He'll be missed.

Thanks for deleting the negative BS! Ian's death was/is tragic and there's zero need for any further negativity!
I never met Ian, but people I know and respect thought he was a good bloke, so that's enough for me! Godspeed Ian! God must have needed a suspension specialist!

My heart goes out to the friends and family of Ian. Especially his daughter. My husband had the pleasure of knowing Ian. The world lost one of its finest.

A fitting tribute to a rascal of a man who died a truly beloved hero.Ian's untimely and senseless passing has affected everyone at Hawley on some level. Some on many levels, and some on all levels. This has affected me personally in a very deep and complex way.It has made me realize that life is a very precious commodity and one that can disappear rather quickly and without much notice. We should all be very grateful to have known Ian. I am not a religious man but I would like to say I hope Ian is in a better place. I would like to think he is chasing wolves on a dirtbike in Valhalla. We will miss you Ian.
