Backstage Shenanigans: The Search For Spok

Symphony stand partner Jose, the pride and future shame of Ecuador, gave my Spok commuter light a whirl at last night's concert. The backstage is pitch dark so I used the Spok to find my way around the cases, cords, ropes, wires and assorted carcasses. Upon seeing my tiny little light, Jose freaked out. "I must have this light Kenny!" the equatorially-centric man-child exclaimed. After a word of warning, Jose strapped it to his bow and played a few choice excerpts from Richard Strauss's "Ein Heldenlaben". While the excerpts left something to be desired, the easy to use velcro strap of the Spok made it the perfect compliment to Jose's expensive-freaking-bow and his expensive-freaking-bass. Spok, the other white meat. Now you see him, now you don't! Wait, reverse that! The Blog's Spok waits patiently for the ride home. She is a good light. I shall miss her when daylight savings time happens this weekend...

To think I used to tie a caveman's skull with a candle melted on it to the handlebars of my crude stone wheeled bone and wood bike before the advent of the spok. Thank you for moving me out of the neolithic era. and into a world where I don't have to carry a flint and crude obsidian tools in a saber toothed tiger skinned sack with me everywhere I go.
